Norton County Community Foundation’s MatchDay 2020 Raises $60,000 for Participating Funds

Norton County Community Foundation (NCCF) hosted its third annual Match Day on July 29, 2020. The donated and matched funds combined for a total of $60,000 to be invested in area nonprofits and charitable organizations.

MatchDay is an annual giving event designed to raise awareness and support for non-profits and charitable organizations in Norton County. This year, NCCF committed $40,000 to match the donations that organizations received on MatchDay ($20,000 from NCCF and $20,000 from an anonymous donor). Nine nonprofits/charitable organizations with endowed funds at NCCF participated in this year’s event:

Combined, the participating nonprofits raised $20,000 from donors, leveraging the 2:1 match from NCCF for a total raised of $60,000. Donations made directly to the organization can be used for immediate needs or invested into their endowed fund, whereas the matching dollars went to the organization’s endowed fund held at NCCF. NCCF also offered a prize incentive in the form of unrestricted grants to the three organizations that brough in the most donors. 1st Place/$500 went to the Norton Area Childcare Association; 2nd Place/$250 went to the NCHS Alumni Association; and 3rd Place/$100 went to the Norton Theatre Association.

“We’re so proud of the participating funds for meeting the MatchDay 2020 goal,” said Tara Vance, Executive Director of NCCF. “2020 has been a challenging year in many ways, which makes this milestone more important than ever. And a big thank you to the donors who so generously came together to support the causes they care about!”
